INSPIRATION BEHIND KAZHCHA
“Karutha Pakshikal”

Karutha Pakshikal' says the story of a bunch of downtrodden people of the society. Living in the slum dwelling of the city, they make their daily bread, doing the low level jobs of the society. Among them, is a socially and economically underprivileged man from Thirunellveli, who migrated to the city to make his living, along with his three kids, Mayil, Azhakappan and Malli. He wanders around the streets, with his blind little daughter Malli, seated on his ironing cart. He roamed the streets, striving hard to make money for the treatment of his totally blind daughter. This is Murukan - Mammootty's new character in Kamal's "Karutha Pakshikal".

This touching story of "Karutha Pakshikal", was the inspiration to organize an event like Kazhcha 06-07, so that no human should go blind due to the lack of proper eye care & treatment, just because of the financial constraints.
